Time for another installment of my Top 10 Original Songs from YouTube!
There is a vast amount of talent out there and I wish I could bring recognition to all of the amazing artists. But I can’t, so here are the best 10 (in no particular order) I came across. Make sure that you show your support to each of these artists by likingsubscribingwhatever… so that they continue to provide us with great music.
If I missed your video, or know of one I should check out, be sure to leave me a comment below! You should also leave your email for me so that I can send you all of my future featured YouTube artists!
Emi McDade – Skeletons
Emi McDade is a very talented piano player and has a powerful voice. Combine this with her songwriting skills she displays and you can tell she is headed good places. I found several of her songs spread over several different YouTube channels, but she doesn’t seem to have many on her own channel. So while you may have to do a little detective work to find other songs by Emi, it’s worth the effort!
Nico Collins – Bent
Here is Nico singing and playing one of his original songs. He has been performing and releasing music on YouTube for 6 years now. If you go back and watch his videos it’s really cool to see him improve as an artist.
Chelsea Collins – Why Do You Do This? ft Nico Collins
Musical talent seems to run in the Collins family. While watching Nico’s videos I stumbled onto his sister Chelsea’s YouTube channel. As you can see in this video, they make a great team and create some great music. Be sure to check out Chelsea’s videos. They are all original songs, and are very good.
Avonlea – Someday
I’m not normally a big fan of the holding up words on paper type of videos, but even I have to admit that Avonlea has amazing talent as a songwriter and a voice to match. This type of video can be a good solution when you have an amazing mix to your song, but don’t have a matching video. I liked that she mixed the notebook paper with also actually singing the song.
Matthew Brett – Building a Machine
Now for something a little different. This all instrumental original composure by Matthew Brett has him playing at least 4 different guitar parts separately, and then later mixed together to create the masterpiece above. His skills are impressive, as is his collection of guitars. Be sure to hop over to his channel and subscribe!
Miki Ratsula – Radiant Warmth
This is a very beautiful and touching love song. If it doesn’t leave an impression on you, then you might need to check your pulse. I think we should consider ourselves blessed that Miki has made such a deeply personal and emotional song available for all of us to enjoy. After listening to this song and watching the lovingly edited video, I actually feel a radiant warmth. Thank you Miki.
Jesse Daniel Smith – When I Call For Her
I really like Jesse Daniel Smith’s voice. and name. and beard. Seriously though, this is a well written, performed, and recorded song. A true professional and you can see the polish that he has put on his videos. He plays a multitude of instruments and is a true home music recording artist. Head over to his channel and Twitter to show your support.
FYI: If you’re wondering what microphone he is using, I spent a good amount of time and found out that it’s from Ear Trumpet Labs. I think it’s the Edwina. Those are some pretty awesome mics. Hand made. Check them out!
Dustin Prinz – You’ll Never Know
Very cool song by Dustin Prinz. I love it when musicians make their loops and show it in the video. The lyrics of the song are tight and Dustin makes it very clear that he handles the entire instrumental part all by himself. The glowy halo gives it an old school music video feel.
Dustin has a huge backlog of music videos on his channel. Be sure to check them out. Chances are pretty good that he has covered several of your favorite songs, and that you’ll find some new favorites in his originals.
Nikita Afonso – Frostbite
Another amazing pianist, Nikita Afonso gives a haunting and beautiful performance while singing her original song Frostbite. The focus of the video is purely about the music and lyrics, and they deserve the attention. In most of her other videos she is playing acoustic guitar while singing. Those songs are great as well, but Frostbite really stands out to me.
Juliette Reilly – Dear Alice
Juliette Reilly wrote this touching song for her sister Alice. Her sweet voice soothing guitar playing conveys her love for her sister in this beautiful song. Her music is a mix between folk and country and she has a lot of videos to showcase her talent. Head over to her channel, various social media, and websites to show your support so this up-and-comer can up and come faster!
I hope you enjoyed all those songs as much as I did. If any of them really stood out to you then be sure to support them via a YouTube subscription, or in whatever way you can. I also want to hear about it below in the comments!
